Program: "Got Jewelry?"
Bring your unwanted jewelry to be sold at the silent auction. Do you have jewelry you would be willing to donate for a fun program at our Feb. Newcomer's Club meeting? The proceeds are going to support women and their families at the Domestic Violence Shelter. With those wonderful pieces of jewelry we no longer wear, the program committee will set up a silent auction. Maybe you can pick up a few new pieces. Payment by check made out to WNC is preferred, but cash will be accepted. Bring your items in a small zip lock bag.
Following the General Membership Meeting, starting at 12:30, a group luncheon will be held at The Pilot House on Chandler's Wharf (2 Ann Street) overlooking the Cape Fear River. The Pilot House is partially housed in a renovated 1870 residence that was moved to it's current location at the opposite end of Water Street from our new meeting site in 1977. They feature a menu that ranges from "down home cookin", to Cajun, to fused Southern fare with a contemporary twist. There's an array of salads, sandwiches, shellfish and seafood. Check them out at www.pilothouserest.com. A sign-up sheet will be available at the meeting. Plan to come join us after the silent auction at the meeting!
Listen for the
announcement on: WECT-TV, WWAY-TV or WAAV-FM 94.1,WHQR-FM 91.3 Due to past weather
experiences, we will publish the information and hope that we won't need

The Wilmington Newcomers Club would love to have you join us ! The club is open to women who live in the Wilmington area.
We meet monthly at 9:30 am on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Coastline Convention Center 501 Nutt Street in Downtown Wilmington. To see a map click here. While sipping a cup of tea or coffee you can enjoy an interesting program. Then you can sign up for our satellite groups which are our main thrust. We have many special interest groups where members can follow their particular interest and make new friends along the way. They are as diverse as bridge clubs, dinner groups, business networking groups, book clubs, movies and lunch, garden clubs and day trip groups. Many members are also active in the numerous Community Service groups in town.
At this time we are focusing on helping the Domestic Violence Shelter and Services. We collected food for a Thanksgiving Dinner and other items on the Shelter's Wish List. These baskets were distributed to women and children whom the Shelter serves. In December we collected donations for Christmas gifts for the children in the shelter. For more information on how you can help this wonderful organization go the their website. Wilmington Domestic Violence Shelter and Services
