Program: "Fun with French Proverbs: How French Food Has Had a Comical Influence on the French Language" Speaker will be Charlene Dupray from South 'n France Bon Bons. Charlene has been speaking French and studying French cuisine for almost twenty years. She will share the lighter side of how the food that Julia Child fell in love infiltrated everyday French language. Following the General Membership Meeting starting at noon, a group luncheon will be held at The Bridge Tender (1414 Airlie Road) with a panoramic view of the Intercoastal Waterway from the wrap around picture windows in the dining room. Over more than 30 years, The Bridge Tender has earned a reputation for casual fine dining with a varied lunch menu of soups, salads, seafood and "landlubber" fare. Check them out at www.thebridgetender.com. A sign-up sheet will be available at the meeting. Plan to come join us!

The Wilmington Newcomers Club would love to have you join us ! The club is open to women who live in the Wilmington area.
We meet monthly at 9:30 am on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Coastline Convention Center 501 Nutt Street in Downtown Wilmington. To see a map click here. While sipping a cup of tea or coffee you can enjoy an interesting program. Then you can sign up for our satellite groups which are our main thrust. We have many special interest groups where members can follow their particular interest and make new friends along the way. They are as diverse as bridge clubs, dinner groups, business networking groups, book clubs, movies and lunch, garden clubs and day trip groups. Many members are also active in the numerous Community Service groups in town.
At this time we are focusing on helping the Domestic Violence Shelter and Services. We collected food for a Thanksgiving Dinner and other items on the Shelter's Wish List. These baskets were distributed to women and children whom the Shelter serves. In December we collected donations for Christmas gifts for the children in the shelter. For more information on how you can help this wonderful organization go the their website. Wilmington Domestic Violence Shelter and Services
