Bargain Diners

On the third Monday of each month, enjoy a dinner that doesn't break your budget. In choosing the restaurant, there will be at least one entree (preferably more) priced, with a non-alcoholic beverage, for under $20. Singles and couples are welcome. Cocktails start at 6:00pm with dinner following around 6:30pm.
Our February restaurant choice for Bargain Dining is Hiro's Japanese Steak and Seafood House which is located at 222 Old Eastwood Road. Join us on Monday, Feb. 15. The website is www.hirojapanese.net and the phone number is 910-794-1570. You can get directions and information about the restaurant on the website. For March 15, we have selected Giorgio's Italian Restaurant which is located at 5226 S. College Road in Monkey Junction near Wal-Mart. Their website is www.giorgios-restaurant.com and the phone number is 910- 790-9954. The Book Club meets at members' homes on the 4th Thursday of each month. Members alternate making recommendations for the book selection and leading a discussion of same. The meeting hostess may elect to have a "bring a dish" lunch as part of the meeting or, more simply, a mid-morning coffee -- hostess choice.
Our selection for March is Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman. The book is described as Steel Magnolias meets The Help. It should be a good read. Our meeting venue is not secured at this time. Please call or email Mary Jo. |

Book Swap and Lunch

Bring a book, share a bit about it and swap it for another book that sounds good to you. We'll have a salad lunch (everyone brings something to add to a salad) and drinks will be provided. This satellite group likes to dine at the top restaurants in Wilmington. It is open to couples and singles and meets the 4th Wed. night of the month. Next dinner experience on Wed. Feb. 24 is at Marc's on Market, 7213 Market St. The chef has won several awards as top chef in Wilmington. Sign up at the meeting or email Elaine or Nancy to make a reservation. Dinner starts at 6 p.m.

The Friday Night Singles meets on the 4th Friday of each month.
In February, the Friday Night Singles Satellite Group will meet at Henry's Restaurant on Friday, February 26th at 7:00 p.m. At this gathering, we will discuss group activities for spring and summer 2010. We are hopeful many of our members will be available to attend. |

We meet the last Thursday of the month at the Arboretum (6206 Oleander Drive, corner of Greenville Loop Rd and Oleander Drive). Social time is 10:00 and speakers are from 10:30 to 11:30.

Walk the 2 1/2 mile Nesbitt Loop at Wrightsville Beach on Monday mornings at 9 am. Meet in the free parking lot at Wrightsville Beach Park off Route 76. Park in the back near the children's play area and public washrooms. Walkers depart promptly at 9:00am. No RSVP required. |
